When I get to tell people I narrate a fair number of 'FMCs with swords in their hands', I always feel like it's a continuous life goal accomplished. (Take that for the euphemism it can be, but only mostly isn't in this case, but obviously is.) And so, I give you... the Realms of the Covenant series by Amy Pennza. Amy's world building is uh.... epic. Let's go with epic. 4 DIFFERENT worlds with 4 DIFFERENT sets of rules and issues for this series, and each book has it's own unique narrative structure.
